Road Mesh, or mesh track, is Reinforced Hexagonal Wire Mesh used in Road construction.
It is similar to gabion mesh in production and appearance. They are both double twisted hexagonal wire mesh, but road mesh also has a transverse rod woven into every other meshes.
Road mesh is perfect solution to solve road problem like reflection cracks, cracking after cold season, rutting and corrugation on heavy duty traffic road, slippage due to weak subsoil etc.
By adding Mesh Track to the foundation, future problems above mentioned will be avoided.
Moreover, Mesh Track considerably increases the load bearing capacity of the road due to the steel reinforcement.
It can be used to both building new roads, or repairing and widening existing roads. It is widely used in air port taxiways, heavy traffic national road, country road on soft turf, or grass parking area etc.
Material: zinc coated or galfan coated steel wire
Mesh size: 80x100 mm, 80x120 mm,
Mesh Wire: 2.0 mm - 2.7 mm
Reinforced rod: 3.5 mm - 4.5 mm
Roll width: 4m at the most.
Roll length: usually 50m
Tensile strength: 350 - 500 N/mm2.
Elongation: no less than 12%.
The mesh size of the mesh track is usually in 80x120mm, mesh wire in 2.2mm or 2.5mm, zinc coated or galfan wire. The transverse rod better be 6.5x2mm or 7x3mm twisted flat wire, which can provide uniform supplementary distribution of the load. Or, if technically not possible, it can be replaced by a normal steel wire thicker than mesh wire, but its performance will not be as good as the twisted flat wire.
